Modern dentistry shouldn’t be painful. We use numbing anaesthetic gels to start the numbing process and afterwards we always test the area to make sure you are completely numb before starting any treatment.
If you find the scaling and polishing painful and sensitive, our hygienists can make this more comfortable by numbing the area using the Oraqix system.
If you’d rather be completely unaware of any treatment we can offer you sedation in the practice. You’ll feel drowsy and sleep by you are still able to talk and co-operate with us. And you’ll have no recollection of the treatment.
The gag reflex helps protect our windpipe. Some people have a more sensitive gag reflex and can make visits to the dentist more difficult.
Talk to us about your concerns and we can avoid these sensitive areas of your mouth and work together to avoid gagging movements.
Our newer digital x-rays can make any x-rays more comfortable, and we can avoid impressions by using our new digital 3-D scanner to take a digital impression of your teeth.
